Downtown Sheridan is in full bloom every summer thanks to the generous supporters of the Downtown Sheridan Association. Each year we partner with the Sheridan College Horticulture Program to provide petunias for over 140 planters hung on the historic street lamps on Main Street. These are furnished at no cost to the property owners as a major benefit to the community. The Horticulture program at Sheridan College grows the petunias from seeds. The Downtown Sheridan Association then plants the petunias into decorative baskets and hangs them downtown with the help of many volunteers. We pay to have them taken care of and watered all summer long. Don’t you just love what they add to our already beautiful downtown?
