Whether you come to Third Thursday, the Winefest or the Goose Creek Cup, you will spot DSA board member Jenny Loomis helping with “the grunt work” as she calls it. Jenny works as the financial manager for the Farmers’ Coop, which has locations. The Co-op, which has been in business since 1943, provides bulk fuel, propane, fencing, feed, fertilizer applications, weed spraying and livestock supplies for the community.
“I like that we are a member-owned co-op and fill a real niche in the community,” says Jenny, who serves as a liaison between the DSA and the Farmers’ Market and has been on the board for four years. She currently serves as secretary and is on the Economic Restructuring Committee.
She says she became involved with DSA after going through Leadership Sheridan. “I knew a few people at DSA and on the board, and they encouraged me to become involved. I really like the energy of our board. In addition, she says she enjoys being part of the DSA. “It’s great to be part of this community and get people to do commerce in Downtown Sheridan.”
Jenny is married with two children. Although they both help with Third Thursday, her son, Winfield, is a familiar face every Thursday of the Farmers’ Market. As for hobbies, Jenny notes that her main one is just “chasing kids around” — and being a helping hand in Downtown Sheridan.
