Thank you to those that attended our 19th annual Wine Fest “It’s Gonna be a Mardi Good Time.” If you were not able to attend, you missed the wonderful silent auction items, raffles and the fabulous food that was provided by Albertson’s and Bonafide.

We also had 22 vendors providing beer, wine, and spirit tastings. This year we grossed $47,038!

I could not have pulled off such a fun night without my army of volunteers and staff. I would like to take a moment and thank our committee trifecta chairs — Robby Smith, Jami Kessner and Jonny Law — along with all of the committee members — Peg Martin, Megan Cook, Chris Carroll, Jay Martinson, Jim Mowry, Paula Whitworth, Ashly Garretson, Evan Jones, Danyelle Heidi, Paula Pacheco, Amber Stones and Tiffani Swenson. A special thank you to my marvelous staff events coordinator Destiny Park and administrative assistant Joyce Thompson.

The money raised from this annual event is the prime source of funding for DSA’s programs in support of our mission to enhance and preserve historic downtown Sheridan to ensure future prosperity.

Thank you to all of our sponsors and silent auction donors and, especially our Grand Cru Sponsors.

Spring is just around the corner and as in years past, we have partnered with Sheridan College Agriculture Department to grow 1,400 petunias that will be hung from downtown to North Main in May. Another army of volunteers is required for us to plant, hang and water them daily. The flowers baskets serve as an initial welcome to our summer visitors who help to keep our community energized.

The expense of growing and placing these flowers in downtown continues to grow while our state and local funding continue to decrease. In order to continue to sustain this wonderful tradition, we are seeking community support by asking our friends and neighbors to donate toward our flowers. Please give us a call at 307-672-8881 or see www.downtownsheridan.org if you would like to support the cause.

Registration for Farmers Market and Third Thursday Street Festival will be open April 1. Applications will be available on our website and at our office located at 121. S. Main St. This year will be the 10th anniversary of the Third Thursday Street Festival. We are currently working on our music line up and other little surprises to celebrate our 10th year.
