Mary Doerr joined the DSA board in July, 2015. She not only grew up in Sheridan, but chose to make her home and raise her family in her hometown.
“I enjoy working for First Interstate Bank because they are very community-oriented and they care about their employees,” explains Doerr.
Doerr wanted to serve on the DSA board because of her commitment to Sheridan. “Since I grew up here, I feel very strongly about attracting tourists and local people to our downtown. I wanted to be part of an organization that is working to help businesses thrive.”
Even before Doerr became an official board member, she was helping with DSA’s Wild West Winefest and Farmer’s Market. “I love helping at the Farmers’ Market. There are all of those great smells of fresh produce and baked goods. It’s wonderful to see so many people coming to buy local goods and enjoy these wonderful events.”
Doerr has two grown children who both appreciate Sheridan, as well. Her son is a former director and educational curator of the Sheridan County Museum (he is now at the Wyoming State Museum in Cheyenne), and her daughter works at First Interstate Bank.
