SPOTLIGHT | VERDELLO OLIVE OILS & FINE FOODS

September 5th, 2023|

If you haven’t been to Verdello Olive Oils & Fine Foods, you are missing out on a wide range of worldly goods! In 2017 Kathy and Mark Bede opened the store on Grinnell Plaza and offer an array of products from pasta and sauces, spices, rubs, cocktail mixers, and fine cheeses to locally sourced olive oil and vinegar from Olivlle Bozeman in Montana. There are many various wines and a few unique spirits to choose from. According to Kathy, Verdello carries quality food products that you can’t get anywhere else in the local area, including gluten-free pasta made in Italy! Kathy’s goal at Verdello is to bring the world’s flavors to Wyoming and you can expect to be exposed to different ways of cooking. The wine selection in the store is impressive. Kathy stated “The thing with wine is that we’re a step above other places. I’m at my second level of WSET (The Wine & Spirit Education Trust) training. We’re not just here to sell, we’re here to be educated in what we’re selling our customers to help guide them to the right product”. Nikkita Miller, Verdello's store manager, spoke highly of the wine selection and wanted to educate people about the fact that Verdello offers a range of wines on tap and has growlers to fill. Nikki encourages people to come down and unwind with a glass of wine while enjoying the recently renovated back patio. Kathy added that having wine on tap just goes well with oil [...]

SPOTLIGHT | WESTERN GRACE

August 31st, 2023|

Jesse Smith opened Western Grace in downtown Sheridan in 2018. The opening was during Sheridan Rodeo week, in true Western fashion. Jesse said her friends encouraged her to have a big opening party and bring the business to life during Sheridan’s busiest week of the summer. Jesse is a known and celebrated designer who remains sought after for her handmade garments that are beautifully created from start to finish by her. Since the business opening, Jesse has only worked harder to make the storefront her own with custom shelves, art by local artists, and beautiful Westen adornments spread throughout the business. “It has taken time to set up the place the way I like it,” Jesse said of Western Grace. An awesome fact about Western Grace, Jesse said most people don’t realize, is that we do everything at the store and it’s made from scratch start to finish. Jesse said that “every client has their own set of patterns and are fitted down to the 1/4” here at the store. Everything from client meetings, measurements, and designs to the layout and fittings. It’s all done at Western Grace. Jesse carries some retail items to pick up at the store, all handmade by her. She also features work by local artists and some pretty jewelry pieces. Another interesting fact about Jesse and Western Grace is that she sources fabric from Los Angeles and New York when she goes to shows, and a lot of times the men’s shirt fabric and wool [...]
