Special Preview Screening for Ken Burns’ Leonardo Da Vinci
Next Wednesday, November 13th the Sheridan Public Arts Committee and Wyoming PBS will be hosting a Leonardo DA Vinci screening premier. Enjoy refreshments starting at 5:30 PM, followed by a 30-minute preview screening at 6:00 PM of Leonardo da Vinci, directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns, and David McMahan. This screening will showcase compelling clips that delve into the life and work of the remarkable 15th-century polymath. After the screening, listen to a stimulating panel discussion that explores how Leonardo’s extraordinary imagination and deep intellect continue to shape our understanding of humanity and our connection to nature. Having had a successful Halloween, there are still plenty of events and activities of all sorts available in Downtown Sheridan this weekend, marking the beginning of November, with more festivities coming down the pipe! Day of the Dead Celebration: Friday Afternoon Starting at 2:00 PM, celebrate Día De Los Muertos hosted by the WYO Theater with a screening of the movie Coco, family-friendly activities, food and drink, with music and dancing to honor the dearly departed! Tiny Treasures and More: Friday Evening Ballard’s Fine Art Gallery First Fridays presents Tiny Treasures and More from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, featuring an array of small works perfect for filling in gaps between your home decor or that blank space on your wall, or making a perfect gift for your loved ones this holiday season! Elk Fire Pint Night and Silent Auction: Friday Evening Hosted by Black Tooth Brewing - Sheridan Brewery, come support the Elk Fire Community Relief Pint Night! Featuring a silent auction starting at 5:00 PM, followed by a 50/50 raffle, and live music by Knuckles, as well as WYO Thai Food and Hetty's Pizza food trucks onsite to provide delicious eats! All proceeds will be donated to the Elk Fire Benefit Fund. With colorful leaves cascading down and the first hints of chilly weather settling in, the Sheridan Community is fully embracing the arrival of fall! The vibrant array of events leading up to Halloween is just around the corner, bringing excitement and joy to the season. Concert: This Friday Evening Join them at 5:30 PM at the First Congregational Church UCC- Sheridan WY for a delightful evening! The Cattail Sisters and Friends, featuring the talented Jane Perkins, will perform a free concert to celebrate the sixth year of Last Friday First Free Concerts. Donations are encouraged to benefit scholarships for the Sheridan College Music program. Monster Mash: Saturday Morning Get ready for a spook-tacular time at DSA’s Annual Main Street Monster Mash! Starting at 10:00 AM, we’ll kick off with a costume contest at Grinnell Plaza. Show off your best looks with your family and enjoy a fun-filled trick-or-treating extravaganza at participating businesses in downtown Sheridan! Library: Saturday at Noon After the Monster Mash, head over to the Sheridan County Library System Fulmer Library, for the Fall Festival at noon! Enjoy a variety of activities, including book giveaways, a storybook adventure, and fun games, all with delicious refreshments! Main Street Monster Mash
The Downtown Sheridan Association’s Marketing and Promotions Committee is thrilled to announce the First Annual Main Street Monster Mash, a family-friendly Halloween event set to take place on Saturday, October 26, 2024. This spooktacular event will bring together local businesses and community members for a day of fun, festivities, and safe trick-or-treating in downtown Sheridan. The event will kick-off with the Kids Costume Contest starting at 10:00 a.m. in front of City Hall; followed by trick-or-treating at participating businesses throughout downtown. Look for the Monsters in the windows or doors to identify participating business.
