WEEKEND HAPPENINGS | MAY 12TH-14TH

May 12th, 2023|

It might be dreary out, but Downtown Sheridan has a lot of colorful and fun things to celebrate on this Mother's Day weekend. While you're out and about remember to stop by your favorite downtown business, especially those affected by construction. Sidewalks are all open and there is free public parking that's close to all shopping and events! Some downtown businesses have back alley business access and parking that makes it a little easier to get to where you want to be. Join The Warehouse Gastropub & Liquor Store for their first Karaoke Night Friday starting at 9:30PM! The WYO Theater and Civic Theatre Guild are excited to present the annual WYO/CTG Co-Production with the production of Noises Off opening Friday, May 12. Directed by Dan Cole and written by Michael Frayn, Noises Off has been called “the funniest farce ever written” and features a local cast slinging sardines, swinging axes and getting mixed up 3 hilarious acts of mad-cap mayhem. May's Story Time at Sheridan Stationery Books and Gifts is Saturday at 10:30AM and you better believe that Ms. Chelsie has some fun stories and activities planned! Stop by WYO Candle Co. and celebrate the launch of their newest Limited Artisan Collection candle, DARK HORSE, and meet the winning artist, Polly Burge! The original winning artwork will be for sale along with several new original pieces. You do NOT want to miss this party because we’ll also have wine served from 1-4pm by our friends at Verdello.

SPOTLIGHT | THE OFFICE BARBER SHOP

May 9th, 2023|

The Office Barber Shop is one in a million. The business has colorful décor to match the personalities of the shop owners, Reuben Morris and John Barnes. The Office has been in business in Downtown Sheridan since 1986 and when asked "what is something you’d like people to know about the barber shop?" The answers erupted from the clientele lining Reuben’s shop benches. “Quick Haircuts!” one man exclaimed, another chimed in with, “It’s affordable! It’s a standard, traditional barber shop.” Reuben noted that he takes walk-ins, no appointment needed. And though parking is a little harder with construction happening right in front of the shop, the sidewalks are accessible and the barber shop is very much open. The Office Barber Shop is located at 423 N Main St and is open Tuesday-Friday from 8AM-5PM and 8AM-12PM on Saturday.

2023 HISTORIC PRESERVATION MONTH SPOTLIGHT | BLACK TOOTH BREWING

May 5th, 2023|

May is Historic Preservation Month and in honor of that DSA will be featuring a weekly Historic Preservation Spotlight throughout the month. Do you remember when the Poll Motor Company was on the corner of Broadway and Alger St in downtown Sheridan? In the Summer of 2010, Black Tooth Brewing - Sheridan converted the building into what is now one of the largest breweries in Wyoming. DSA awarded Black Tooth Brewing the 2022 Downtown Design Award for restoring and maintaining much of the industrial character from the original structure built in 1946, including the auto service garage doors, the original brick returned from decades hiding behind paint, and revealing the wood ceiling. As of today, Black Tooth Brewing - Sheridan has expanded and now includes a canning line for packaging, putting Black Tooth even more on the map as the distribution of their products includes Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota and Montana.
