WEEKEND HAPPENINGS SEPTEMBER 2ND – SEPTEMBER 4TH

It's Labor Day Weekend which marks the end of summer. Come downtown tomorrow from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and watch (or participate) as Becky with Blue Meadows, llc tries to break a World Waxing Nostrils record! Becky will set up chairs and a waxing station outside her saloon located at 138 S. Main Street. She will be waxing a minimum of 62 people's nostrils. Participants will also be entered in a change to win 1 of 3 Blue Meadows Gift certificates. Luminous Brewhouse presents their Summer's End Street Dance with Paul Bogart and special Guest Fate Williams. Get your dancing shoes or boots on and enjoy an evening of live music and beer! This is the last weekend the famous Scoops ice cream stand at Kendrick Park will be open! They will be open till Labor Day or till ice cream runs out (which ever comes first). Ice cream will be .50 cents cone day on Labor Day. They open are open from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. today and 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday - Monday.

Celebrate the Arts continues! WYO Theater Performing Arts and Education Center is excited to present Gretsch Country Artist Lynda Kay of Goliath fame. Ms. Lynda Kay is known for her 4-octave voice, big hair, classic vintage style, and genre spanning songs. She has been compared to Patsy Cline, Karen Carpenter, Dusty Springfield, and Roy Orbison. LA Weekly says, "Lynda Kay’s breakthrough was recent, but her journey is the thing of which legends are made.” Kay recently released a double-album of 20 new songs titled Black & Gold, whose first song is a duet she recorded and wrote with the late great Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister of Motörhead. Select songs from Lynda Kay’s Black & Gold album are featured in the Golden-Globe Award Winning Series Goliath on Amazon Prime where Lynda Kay co-stars as herself in five of the eight Episodes with Billy Bob Thornton. Kick-off the weekend at Black Tooth Brewing - Sheridan tonight and listen to Jaden Decker while you have a cold one. The VFW Roy Eaton Post 1560 and Auxiliary (758 Broadway) and C&K Equipment are having a Crawfish Boil & music by One Shot-Rock duo. Boil kicks off at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Enjoy some live music, good food and fun for all. DJ Austin Taylor will be playing some tunes on Saturday evening starting at 6 p.m. at Welcome Market Hall. Stop by to unwind from a long week and treat yourself to a wide selection of food and drinks. Take your friends out to the Flying H Polo Club on Sunday and watch the DSA's Goose Creek Polo Cup. This is the "highest rated polo cup played in the USA all summer!" This is a unique opportunity for our community to witness the world's highest rated polo players and horses right here at the base of the Bighorn Mountains. Gates open at 3 p.m. to the public - $20 a car load. The Kid's Foot Races will kick off at 4:30 p.m., Professional Long Ball Calcutta, the game starts at 5 p.m. and the evening will conclude with a Professional and Amateur Long Ball Competition.
