Brittain World Travel – A Division of Burch Travel
Our featured "aMAYzing" place of the day is...Brittain World Travel! Right here in Downtown Sheridan, we have Wyoming's 1st Travel Agency that has been in operation since 1947! Brittain World Travel (a division of Bursch Travel) has teamed up with Funjet Vacations and Big Horn Mountain Radio Network for The Great Escape Giveaway! Today, from 11am - 1pm, stop by 150 S. Main Street to enter for your chance to win a dream vacation for two! The History of Bursch Travel Bursch Travel was “born” in a restaurant in Alexandria called the Bus Depot Café in 1956. In those days, 30-40 buses a day traveled through Alexandria going to Minneapolis, Fargo, Chicago, Seattle, and all points in between. M.W. “Pete” and Audrey Bursch purchased the Bus Depot Café and began serving meals and selling bus tickets. Occasionally a traveler would ask about making airline reservations and would rely on ”Pete’s” travel advice, gleaned from his years as a business traveler. Our branch office in St. Cloud opened in 1960 and has become the company’s largest location. Fred Bursch joined the company in [...]
Wine Fest was INCREDIBLE! Thank you!
Thank you to those that attended our 19th annual Wine Fest “It’s Gonna be a Mardi Good Time.” If you were not able to attend, you missed the wonderful silent auction items, raffles and the fabulous food that was provided by Albertson’s and Bonafide. We also had 22 vendors providing beer, wine, and spirit tastings. This year we grossed $47,038! I could not have pulled off such a fun night without my army of volunteers and staff. I would like to take a moment and thank our committee trifecta chairs — Robby Smith, Jami Kessner and Jonny Law — along with all of the committee members — Peg Martin, Megan Cook, Chris Carroll, Jay Martinson, Jim Mowry, Paula Whitworth, Ashly Garretson, Evan Jones, Danyelle Heidi, Paula Pacheco, Amber Stones and Tiffani Swenson. A special thank you to my marvelous staff events coordinator Destiny Park and administrative assistant Joyce Thompson. The money raised from this annual event is the prime source of funding for DSA’s programs in support of our mission to enhance and preserve historic downtown Sheridan to ensure future prosperity. Thank you to all of our sponsors and silent auction donors and, especially our Grand Cru Sponsors. Spring is just around the corner and as in years past, we have partnered with Sheridan College Agriculture Department to grow 1,400 petunias that will be hung from downtown to North Main in May. Another army of volunteers is required for us to plant, hang and water them daily. The flowers baskets serve as an [...]
