Welcoming the New Staff
As the summer starts, the Downtown Sheridan Association is pleased to announce and welcome new staff. Destiny Park has joined the DSA team as the Events Coordinator. Park will be responsible for events for DSA such as 3rd Thursday and Farmers Market. Park is a Sheridan, Wyoming native who loves her hometown. She holds an associate degree and is working towards her bachelor’s. Park has five plus years of experience with running events for holidays, creating menus, customer relations, and management. “I am thrilled to be a part of the DSA team and excited to start a new challenge. I was attracted by Downtown Sheridan Association’s mission to preserve and enhance Sheridan’s historic downtown. I love the Sheridan area and cannot thank Downtown Sheridan Association enough for this opportunity.” Cora Crecelius has joined the team as the Administrative Assistant. Crecelius is thrilled to return to her hometown and looks forwards to our summer events. Crecelius brings master’s degrees in public health and legal studies, extensive experience in community program development and coalition building, and a deep love of home to DSA. Her desire to continue learning will serve her well as she begins meeting members of our historic downtown in her new role and takes part in our many events over the coming months. aMAYzing Places Winners!
During the month of May, The Historic District Promotions Committee put on aMAYzing Places in Downtown Sheridan. Starting on May 1st, customers that shopped at 1 of the 35 participating businesses had the opportunity to enter into the aMAYzing Places raffle. The entry forms were gathered up and winners were drawn every Monday of the month. Businesses donated gift certificates for the winners to receive. The Historic District Promotions Committee announces another shop local campaign… “aMAYzing Places!” Starting on May 1, through May 31st, residents will fill out an entry form and give it to retailer once they find the hidden Bozeman Scout in their stores. Promotion run for the month of May and will have six weekly winners! The HDPC is sponsored by the Downtown Sheridan Association. In partnership with the Chamber this committee meets monthly to discuss the promotion of downtown businesses and to create programs like this intended to specifically thank their local, loyal shoppers! DSA Marketing & Events Coordinator Position
The Downtown Sheridan Association is seeking a part-time Marketing and Events Coordinator. This position requires good communication skills, being able to negotiate contracts, delegate tasks and direct volunteers to execute detailed plans associated with events. Staying focused and organized throughout the process of planning and coordinating an event is essential for the Coordinator to work efficiently. The applicant must be able to work under pressure, remaining calm in order to problem solve and think outside of the box when needed. Skilled in Microsoft Word & Excel a must, design software experience is preferred. High School Diploma or GED required. Prior events planning experience preferred.
