2023 HISTORIC PRESERVATION MONTH SPOTLIGHT | BLACK TOOTH BREWING
May is Historic Preservation Month and in honor of that DSA will be featuring a weekly Historic Preservation Spotlight throughout the month. Do you remember when the Poll Motor Company was on the corner of Broadway and Alger St in downtown Sheridan? In the Summer of 2010, Black Tooth Brewing - Sheridan converted the building into what is now one of the largest breweries in Wyoming. DSA awarded Black Tooth Brewing the 2022 Downtown Design Award for restoring and maintaining much of the industrial character from the original structure built in 1946, including the auto service garage doors, the original brick returned from decades hiding behind paint, and revealing the wood ceiling. As of today, Black Tooth Brewing - Sheridan has expanded and now includes a canning line for packaging, putting Black Tooth even more on the map as the distribution of their products includes Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota and Montana.

SPOTLIGHT | LA HERRADURA MEXICAN RESTAURANT
La Herradura Mexican Restaurant is a local favorite! Maybe it’s the warm atmosphere or the smiles that greet you the second you walk in the door, but the tables are always full with locals and visitors alike, hungry for the family recipes that owners Raymundo Lepe and Jose Lepe love to serve their guests. The restaurant opened in February of 2019 and presents local favorites like the fajitas and the carne asada. When Ray was asked the important question, “What is the local favorite margarita?” He answered that the Skinny Margarita is ordered most often. Don’t let construction fool you, La Herradura Mexican Restaurant is OPEN and serving their tasty food daily! There are two access points to allow you to dine-in with them! You can get to them via the alley off of Mandel St, or you can take E. Dow St to access parking in their back parking lot. La Herradura would love to see you on Cinco do Mayo for their annual celebration with food margaritas and fun!

This weekend is all about the arts! Savor the gorgeous spring weather and get out to enjoy everything from music to creating. Of course Downtown Sheridan doesn't disappoint with live local music events and fun classes throughout downtown businesses. As a side note, various patios are opening up downtown so keep your eyes open for opportunities to sip your favorite local craft beverage, whether it be coffee or brews, while taking in the fresh air! First Congregational Church UCC- Sheridan WY is hosting the Last Friday Free Concert on Friday from 5:30-6:30 PM! Three great performances, all in one hour! Free, but any donations go to Sheridan College Music Scholarships Join Carrie Edinger at SAGE Community Arts for a Basic Bookmaking class! Use a few basic techniques to bind the pages and a cover to create your own artists books on Saturday from 1-4 PM. Stop in to Sheridan Stationery Books and Gifts on Saturday from 10 AM - 6 PM to celebrate Independent Bookstore Day! This year there are over 900 stores participating across the country, and we invite you to stop into Sheridan Stationery Books & Gifts to join the celebration! We will have special treats, sales, prizes, and exclusive IBD swag!
