SPOTLIGHT | SIDE STREET BED & BATH
After retirement, Jennifer Nelson found herself wanting to be more involved in the community and to be around people. In her time out and about, she noticed that Sheridan had a niche to be filled with mid to high-end quality bed and bath goods. With that in mind, Jennifer created Side Street Bed & Bath to offer beautiful, soft, and relaxing items to the community. Jennifer and her husband Garry have owned the downtown business since 2014 and Jennifer runs the business full time. While designing the look and feel of Side Street Bed & Bath, Jennifer employed the concept that she wanted to help people create a haven for themselves. She enjoys helping people create a restful environment so they have a relaxing escape in their home. Jennifer said that she wanted a whole new experience for shoppers. She said, “With all of the beautiful blankets, bedding, towels, and soft intimates, there’s a tactile experience to give people when they’re here.” One thing Jennifer said she wants more people to know is that she carries bedding at Side Street Bed & Bath. She stated, “Oddly enough people don’t know I offer more than pajamas and towels until they come in and shop.” Jennifer really enjoys working with people who want help designing their bedrooms to create a dreamy escape with colors and fabrics. SPOTLIGHT | CRAZY WOMAN TRADING CO.
If you have been in Sheridan for any amount of time you have probably run into Linda and Willis Fauth. The pair opened Crazy Woman Trading Co. - Sheridan, Wyoming.. 27 years ago and are so thankful for the customers and their support for making it all possible. Linda stated that she and Willis have not only been partners in business for 55 years, they’ve been married for 58! She said that no other business is similar to Crazy Woman, she has the brand trademarked so no one CAN be similar (smart lady). Linda is a lively gal with a great eye for apparel and accessories. She enjoys being a little edgy with her merchandise choices and has great stories behind the items they carry at the store. Linda was thrilled to note that Crazy Woman Trading Co. ships all over the world. “We recently shipped to the Netherlands, Africa, Japan, and New Zealand!” She stated. When Linda and Willis travel, they see the Crazy Woman brand out in different areas. “I will see someone with a crazy woman brand on, and I will talk to them about it, I love it!” “We are very friendly, and fun and we carry something for everyone in the store at every price point. SPOTLIGHT | VERDELLO OLIVE OILS & FINE FOODS
If you haven’t been to Verdello Olive Oils & Fine Foods, you are missing out on a wide range of worldly goods! In 2017 Kathy and Mark Bede opened the store on Grinnell Plaza and offer an array of products from pasta and sauces, spices, rubs, cocktail mixers, and fine cheeses to locally sourced olive oil and vinegar from Olivlle Bozeman in Montana. There are many various wines and a few unique spirits to choose from. According to Kathy, Verdello carries quality food products that you can’t get anywhere else in the local area, including gluten-free pasta made in Italy! Kathy’s goal at Verdello is to bring the world’s flavors to Wyoming and you can expect to be exposed to different ways of cooking. The wine selection in the store is impressive. Kathy stated “The thing with wine is that we’re a step above other places. I’m at my second level of WSET (The Wine & Spirit Education Trust) training. We’re not just here to sell, we’re here to be educated in what we’re selling our customers to help guide them to the right product”. Nikkita Miller, Verdello's store manager, spoke highly of the wine selection and wanted to educate people about the fact that Verdello offers a range of wines on tap and has growlers to fill. Happy Friday to you all! It looks like it's going to be a great Labor Day weekend and we hope you can get out and enjoy what the beautiful area has to offer, including the fun events going on in downtown Sheridan! Join The Country & Western Store Friday from 4-6 PM for the signing of The Lost Cowboy, J. B. Zielke. While you hang out, enjoy live music by Adda Boyd and spend time perusing the cool country-rocks styles at the store. Jason Lenyer Buchanan & The Short Timers are making their Sheridan debut at the No Name Bar starting at 9 PM on Friday! Based out of Cheyenne, Wyoming, the group consists of the immensely talented Davy Jones on drums, Marcus Gallizi on the smoothest standup bass you’ve ever seen, Brian Hiltner playing on that sweet sweet Fiddle, and Jason Buchanan on the acoustic guitar and lead vocals. This Sunday, The Paint Post is hosting a Feeling Foxy painting class at 2 PM. This sweet fox is such a fun creation for all ages. The artist will walk you step-by-step through the process - from her furry exterior to her pretty boho flower crown! Grab a friend or bring the family; this is one you don't want to miss!
