Mint Juleps at the Downtown Kentucky Derby Party

April 14th, 2022|

Each year, almost 120,000 Mint Juleps are served over the two-day period of Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby weekend at Churchill Downs Racetrack. This year, we are excited to be making our mint juleps with Wyoming crafted bourbon from Pine Bluffs Distilling! Your entry into the Downtown Kentucky Derby Party includes 2 drink tickets and we're planning on making enough mint juleps to go around! Interested in trying Pine Bluffs whiskey and bourbon? Verdello is hosting a free Pine Bluffs Distilling Tasting in their store tomorrow (Friday) from 2:30-5:30pm! Can't make it tomorrow? Verdello is also hosting a cheese and whiskey pairing class with Pine Bluffs Distilling May 13th!

Sheridan Railroad History Interpretive Park

April 13th, 2022|

In honor of Historic Preservation Month coming up in May, we want to highlight the CB&Q 5631 Project and the Sheridan Railroad History Interpretive Park!πŸš‚ Β  The CB&Q 5631 Project aims to restore #5631 and create an interpretive park across the tracks from the old wooden depot. Not only would this interpretive park represent the importance of the railroad to the history and culture of Sheridan, but it also offers economic, aesthetic, and educational benefits to our community! The interpretative park would provide an opportunity for visitors to get a closer look and experience the engine, in addition to the historic Sheridan trolley and other railroad features. Β  To learn more about this project including the purpose, concept, budget, funding, updates, and partners, visit: cbq5631.com Β  We are excited to see how this project could benefit our community and tie into the E 5th Street Corridor Plan!
