Lots of great events going on this weekend! Tonight at 7:00 p.m., Grammy Award Winner Larry Mitchell is back at the WYO Theater this time with his band and another Grammy Award-Winner artist, Robert Mirabal. Larry Mitchell is a producer, engineer and performer who has toured the world playing guitar with well-known artists including Tracy Chapman, Billy Squier, Ric Ocasek and Miguel Bosé. In his original compositions, Larry skillfully weaves guitar textures that showcase his virtuosity as a solo artist and ensemble player. Bought Beauty is hosting their annual Give with an Impact, Under the Same Moon. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on Friday night (RSVP ONLY 307-620-2339). Join them for an evening of Moonlit Shopping & Desserts! Live performance by Mark Elliot Bergman and featured guest speaker, Amy Ahiga, founder of the Grain of Rice Project! On Saturday, doors will open at 10:00 a.m. You do not want to miss Holy Name Thrift Store's Annual Christmas Extravaganza!!! Sheridan Stationery Books and Gifts is hosting their story time at 10:30 a.m. Join Mrs. Chelsie with her favorite fall and Thanksgiving stories and a fun craft! SPOTLIGHT | BEST OUT WEST ANTIQUES
Best Out West Antiques is its own fantastic journey through time and space. Owned by Christy Love, Best Out West has been on Main Street since the early 1990s and has become a treasure hunter’s delight! There are roughly 16000 square feet of shoppable space that are merchandised floor to ceiling with volumes of collectibles, antiques, treasures, and beyond. Best Out West has become a destination for visitors and of course the locals. We all know that Sheridan loves their antiques and hunting for gorgeous sand sometimes rare finds. Best Out West Antiques manager, Darla Judes started out as a vendor at the store and has been managing it for over 20 years. Did you know there are over 260 vendors who sell their goods at Best Out West? The items for sale don’t just come from Wyoming, vendors are from all over including Wyoming, Colorado, North Carolina, and even South Africa. A person should plan to spend a good amount of time meandering through the collection of items at Best Out West, they have everything under the sun from antiques and collectibles to locally made items. Darla mentioned that patrons stop in to peruse and enjoy the whole experience and they spend time taking it all in. “People come in to talk and reminisce, they like to tell their stories and connect with us about specific items they find. WEEKEND HAPPENINGS | OCTOBER 27 – 29TH
It's going to be a splendid Halloween weekend in the downtown area. To kick-off a fun filled Halloween weekend stop by Sheridan Memorial Hospital Primary Care (downtown) for their Primary Scare Trick or Treat and Haunted House event on Friday, October 27th, from 6-8 p.m.! Grab your little ones for a night of fun and fright. They will have trick-or-treating for all ages and a haunted house for those 13+ or who are accompanied by an adult. This event is free to the public and donations are welcome and will go towards the National Leukemia Foundation. The Kalif Shrine Center Tunnel of Terror haunted house "Dare to be Scared!" will be open Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 6-10 p.m. The cost is $5 per person or $20 per family. To finish or start your evening, stop by Luminous Brewhouse to hear Gary Small & the Coyote' Bros. This is their first Sheridan performance in 3 years! The music starts at 7:00 p.m. and there is no cover charge. Continue the fun on Saturday evening with the Halloween Parties at your favorite local bar(s). SPOTLIGHT | MIDTOWN CAFE
Midtown Café doesn’t just offer amazing food, smoothies, and coffee. They also welcome you in with kindness like it’s their home, give great customer service, and provide warm, tasty made from made-from-scratch meals. You not only feel like one of the family while you’re there, but you can relax and enjoy the food and company in front of you because of the environment. Miguel and Olivia Bringas have owned and operated Midtown Café for the last 14 years and don’t have any plans to change that. When speaking with their daughter, Priscilla who also works at Midtown, she said her grandma was in the kitchen at the time of the conversation. That’s at least three generations working together for the same purpose – serving Sheridan amazing food. Priscilla stated that all of the ingredients at Midtown Café are fresh and they grow the majority of the fresh vegetables and even some fruits in their large garden! She said, “We grow a lot of the produce ourselves like tomatoes, limes, zucchini, cilantro, pumpkins, onions, and more!” You can’t get any more home-grown-fresh than that at a restaurant. Everything at Midtown Café is made to order, nothing is reheated or set aside and they do make everything from scratch – have you had the green sauce? You need to if you haven’t yet.
