SPOTLIGHT | JACKALOPE RANCH MERCANTILE
Jackalope Ranch Mercantile was opened in 2021 by owners Pamela and Wayne Gable. The boutique surely isn’t their first endeavor, Pam and Wayne have been Sheridan business owners for decades. From Sheridan Seed Company to a knitting store, and a boutique in the Holiday Inn to renovating a building and creating Java Moon and Over The Moon in 1999, they are anchor stores in the downtown. Pam and Wayne’s last establishment was Twisted Hearts, a boutique much like Jackalope Ranch Mercantile with an adjoining coffee shop named Red Velvet. From Twisted Hearts, Jackalope Ranch was born and carefully designed just a block down and across the street. When speaking to Pam, she spoke lovingly of the inventory she carries. She said that when looking for items and brands to carry at Jackalope Ranch Mercantile she looks for inspiration from other beautiful towns while traveling. She seeks out similar stores to hers to help cultivate ideas to bring back to Sheridan. The eclectic and well-put-together inventory is always shifting and caters to every age group. Pam stated that she seldom goes to markets and tries to bring in goods that nobody has in town. When Pam was asked what sets her apart from other boutiques she said, “I think visually. I try to envision what people want to see in Sheridan. I am forward thinking and seek out unique things to share.” Pam stated that, “When I travel, I love seeing what other towns and downtowns are doing, I see [...]
SHERIDAN MAIN STREET PROJECT | UPDATED CLOSURES
With another section of Main Street closed from Grinnell Street to Brundage Street there is a new list of businesses in the closure. All affected businesses in the closure are listed below and the bear paws indicate which stores have alley access and side street access (to the best of our knowledge). Many downtown businesses have taken the time to spruce up their back alley entrances to allow better access to their stores. As a reminder, sidewalks on Main Street will remain open during the road closures and there are free public parking lots close to downtown to accommodate easy access to businesses! Thank you for Bearing With Us as we navigate through this time as a downtown community.

SPOTLIGHT | PUZZLE’S GAME & HOBBY
Halen McMahan opened Puzzle's Game & Hobby in 2018. The storefront is connected to Brian's Boot & Shoe Company and has its own entrance. Although Puzzle’s is a smaller retail space, Halen has a lot of inventory for the gaming customer. He is extremely knowledgeable about games from puzzles to more complicated miniature wargames like Warhammer. Halen sells board games, tabletop games, and mini-war games, role-play games, and puzzles. When asked what sets him apart from a traditional hobby store, Halen stated that “I sell more interesting and fun board games that are not your traditional Monopoly style.” Think Risk and beyond. Halen picked up a box and said, “If you want a game to bust out on a whim, I suggest Costume Party Detective. It’s fun and always different!” In chatting with Halen he mentioned that he loves chatting and nerding out with people! He said, “Stop in and let’s talk shop about D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) and Warhammer!” Halen is happy to assist in finding your next new hobby obsession! Halen also works next door at Brian’s Boots & Shoe Co., when he’s not assisting customers with their footwear needs, he is at Puzzle’s Game and Hobby. That means he’s pretty much always at the store on one side or the other and ready to help with anything you need. As a reminder, customers can access Puzzle’s via sidewalks during construction, or through Brian’s Boots back-alley entrance, just look for the sign on the door of the boot store. Puzzle’s Game and [...]
