SPOTLIGHT | WESTERN GRACE
Jesse Smith opened Western Grace in downtown Sheridan in 2018. The opening was during Sheridan Rodeo week, in true Western fashion. Jesse said her friends encouraged her to have a big opening party and bring the business to life during Sheridan’s busiest week of the summer. Jesse is a known and celebrated designer who remains sought after for her handmade garments that are beautifully created from start to finish by her. Since the business opening, Jesse has only worked harder to make the storefront her own with custom shelves, art by local artists, and beautiful Westen adornments spread throughout the business. “It has taken time to set up the place the way I like it,” Jesse said of Western Grace. An awesome fact about Western Grace, Jesse said most people don’t realize, is that we do everything at the store and it’s made from scratch start to finish. Jesse said that “every client has their own set of patterns and are fitted down to the 1/4” here at the store. Everything from client meetings, measurements, and designs to the layout and fittings. It’s all done at Western Grace. Jesse carries some retail items to pick up at the store, all handmade by her. She also features work by local artists and some pretty jewelry pieces. SPOTLIGHT | ADVENTURE SPORTS/SHIRTS ON MAIN
Adventure Sports is a unique store on Main Street! As versatile as the product that goes through the store throughout the year, the business adapts to the seasons. Adventure Sports is an entity of the Sport Stop and works as a pop-up-style store. In the winter months, debuting on the night of the Christmas Stroll the store transitions into a winter sport retail store and rental spot. You can find snowboards, downhill skis, cross-country skis, and snowshoes. All for sale, or rent to try before you buy. The winter version of Adventure Sports is open through March, and then from about mid-March through mid-May, there is a pop-up clearance shop for cold weather apparel and shoes. After the big sale. from mid-May through mid-September, it becomes Shirts on Main where you can find Wyoming souvenirs, old-fashioned candy, and custom shirts galore! Shirts on Main (Adventure Sports) has hundreds of designs available on hand for any shirt, hoodie, or tank top in stock. Assistant manager Olivia Munroe said that customers can pick the color, size, and style that fits them best to go with the design of their choice. Olivia stated that they print the staff shirts for the Silver Spur Café and work with many other businesses and schools in town. SPOTLIGHT | RED SHED REDOS PICKET FENCE
After moving to Main Street, what started as a backyard market has only gotten bigger in spirit and inventory. Owners, Terri and Nick Walton partnered with long-time friend Sonni Williams, store manager of Red Shed Redos Picket Fence, to start Behind The Picket Fence "Vintage & Handmade Marketplace" years ago. Behind the Picket Fence started in the Walton’s backyard (where you can find the Red Shed that comes into play in the current name) and soon bloomed beyond backyard capacity. The trio moved the markets to the Sheridan County Fairgrounds and they have only grown bigger since! Behind the Picket Fence Marketplace is a semi-annual market that hosts many local vendors selling crafts and vintage items. Terri and Sonni run the downtown store with the help of several select vendors who work at the shop. You can visit Red Shed Redos Picket Fence in downtown Sheridan. With 30+ vendors showcasing their work in the store you can always find something that makes you smile. From handmade candy and jewelry to fine art prints, original paintings, quilts, wreaths, and metalwork. Terri wanted to remind people, "When you support a local artist or crafter, you are keeping it hometown and local. The WYO Theater will celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the original Lotus Theater – now the WYO – with a performance by the WYO’s New Vaudevillians on Friday, August 25 at 7 PM. The event recalls the original opening of the Lotus featuring the New Vaudevillian Band accompanying an impressive cast of local talent performing a variety of acts including comedy, magic, singing, and dancing! It's Back to School at WYLD Adventures! Manny Cakes will be selling back-to-school cookies, XERanchGoods will have herbal remedies to keep your kids healthy. The Front Porch Wyo will have shoppable new fall styles and WYLD Adventures will have awesome end-of-summer sales! The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Suds n' Spurs Brewfest on Saturday, August 26 from 2-7 PM at Whitney Commons Park. Sample professional craft beer from across the Mountain West, plus music, food vendors, and good community fun!
