DSA RECEIVES 2023 MAIN STREET AMERICA ACCREDITATION
Downtown Sheridan Association (DSA) has been designated as an Accredited Main Street America™ program for meeting rigorous performance standards. Each year, Main Street America and its partners announce the list of Accredited programs to recognize their exceptional commitment to preservation-based economic development and community revitalization through the Main Street Approach™. In 2022, Main Street America programs generated $6.2 billion in local reinvestment, helped open 7,657 net new businesses, facilitated the creation of 29,174 net new jobs, catalyzed the rehabilitation of 10,688 historic buildings, and leveraged 1,528,535 volunteer hours. On average, for every dollar that a Main Street program spent to support their operations, it generated $24.07 of new investment back into their downtown communities. Collectively, 2 million people live or work within the boundaries of designated Main Street America districts. An estimated workforce of 1.1 million people contribute their skills and expertise to advancing the missions of these historic downtowns and commercial corridors. DSA’s performance is annually evaluated by Wyoming Main Street through the Wyoming Business Council, which works in partnership with Main Street America to identify the local programs that meet rigorous national performance standards. To quality for Accreditation status, communities must meet a set of rigorous standards that include commitments to building grassroots revitalization programs, fostering strong public-private partnerships, nurturing economic opportunity for small businesses and entrepreneurs, and actively preserving historic places, spaces, and cultural assets. WEEKEND HAPPENINGS | MAY 19TH-21ST
Happy weekend everyone! There is so much going on in Downtown Sheridan AND throughout the town, we hope to see you out and about this weekend enjoying what your community has to offer. As always, stay safe and have a wonderful weekend! Kid Curious is celebrating their 4 Year Anniversary on Saturday from 10 AM-5 PM! Come on down for all day fun, giveaways, & contest entry. All purchases made that day enter you for chance to win one of five (5)-20 second shopping sprees. Rules & regulations will apply, see store for details! On Saturday, May 20th from 10 AM-2 PM the Fly Shop of the Bighorns we will be hosting the annual Mayfly Festival at Kendrick Park! If you like casting fly rods, listening to live music, beer, food, and more then stop by! Anyone is welcome, and the admission is free! Dori Jo & Matt Barr will be live in concert at Luminous Brewhouse on Friday night starting at 7 PM! It's that time of year, folks! FLOWER'S UP in Downtown Sheridan is this Sunday and DSA needs volunteers for the big task at hand. SPOTLIGHT | BLACK MOON ARTS
Walking into Black Moon Arts there is a sense of calm and awe, from the eclectic décor to the clean and modern interior design, you immediately feel welcome as you walk down the hall and enter the tattoo studio. Alexandra Eisele (pictured in the graphic above) is an apprentice tattoo artist working under owner, Matthew Campbell. Matthew has been tattooing for over 16 years and opened Black Moon Arts in 2020 in Downtown Sheridan. You will find him at the shop with his adorable shop dog, Chuey in tow. Alexandra wanted to remind people that they are open during construction with great sidewalk access. She and Matthew encourage people to just walk in and start a conversation about body art ideas - big or small, they love it all! Matthew or Alexandra are always at the shop by 12PM every day, seven days a week, ready to welcome you and talk tattoos! They pride themselves in being able to get people scheduled to get tattooed in a short turnaround time - so get down there!

Here's an updated list of businesses being affected by construction road closures. We have included identifying the businesses that have back alley access as well as the ones who are located on, or have side street access. And remember, sidewalks will remain accessible during construction and there is free public parking close to downtown.
